Table Matters

If you were building a company for success or enlisting a team of individuals that would represent you in a specific sport or venture, I imagine it would not be the lot that Jesus had with him around the table at the last supper. Think about this: Of the 12 that were core, he had a doubters, a strong leader who would deny him, even one who would betray him. Not the best collection of people or players to build something for success or impact. Around that table there was a mixed bag of followers and challenges. 

You and I are invited to this same table. You may be one who wrestles with doubts, or maybe even has stepped aside from sincere faith. You might be one who is still seeking, with questions or fears. There’s room for you at his table.

Jesus didn’t try to purposely fix them or somehow make all things right or better at this table of Passover. He pointed their thoughts and hearts to his being the Lamb of God. That he was the answer to their need for deliverance and freedom from sin, captivity and slavery. He made it quite clear that in Him they would find a “new” agreement or path of living, as they recall and remember Him, a new creation. 

Look to Jesus, voice your concerns, and ask your questions. He can handle it. Don’t allow the doubts to keep you isolated. Come close and find one who will transform you by your being in proximity to him. You have been invited to the table.
