Just Burgers

I went to our cellular phone carrier local store the other day We have been customers of this company for over 18 years, and they were offering a deal that was less expensive and a new updated phone. So I asked if they would be offering that same offer to existing customers. The salesman responded, “No. You would have to quit being a loyal customer and then come back after some time.” He informed me that the offer was only for the new customers This firm has been in the news lately for having real issues, experiencing difficultly retaining existing customers. And their stock value is taking a significant downturn. And you wonder why?

Something is wrong with the culture and the awareness of the leadership of this company.

Everything has a culture. Good or bad. The values that are practiced and applied in a marriage, family, business, sports team, church create the culture that is caught by those in proximity. Both sell hamburgers, but McDonald’s culture is very different than In-N-Out Burger. Disneyland has a different culture than Knott’s Berry Farm, and they exist only a few miles apart.

Proverbs 17:22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

What lives in you will be experienced by those around you. What do people pick up from your life and attitudes?  Will they find a culture of good medicine or one of brittle dryness?  Do they catch love, grace, hope and forgiveness or smallness, bitterness, judgment or critical hardness?

The good news is you can change your culture. The best and most efficient way to do so, is to make sure your close friends have the heart you desire. Show me your close friends and I’ll show you your future. So can I encourage you today make sure you are hanging out with Jesus often. He will make better your culture.
