Hearts Aflame

From the very start the desire of the Trinity is to walk in heartbeat with his creation, you and me. He found a way to bridge through the brokenness of sin and separation over and over again. Here is this heart desire expressed:

I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2 Cor. 6:16

He did make his dwelling place among us, as we see in the Old Testament, when they would set up the tent of meeting, the Tabernacle. A cloud by day, and a pillar of fire by night would stand above the meeting place. Think of it, a pillar of fire, a cloud of flame above the pre-temple. This flame would illuminate the night bringing protection from enemies and beast. If the pillar of fire moved, this was the guidance and direction for the people of God. This very element of fire, used with Moses at the burning bush, is used again representing the presence of father God.

Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. Acts 2:3,4

And for us now, after the cleansing victorious work of Jesus upon the Cross, we are made ready as his new temple to receive the fire again. Each one of us receivesthe very presence of the Holy Spirit to guide, protect, counsel, empower us to be his instruments of redemption. Lift your head today, knowing that by the mercy and grace of Jesus, you can be and are an available recipient of the work of Holy Spirit. And the purpose from the beginning for him to be your God and you to be his people has been accomplished. Enjoy the relationship of fresh friendship with him and the flame to bring warmth to those around you.
