Honeycrisp
We are spoiled. We can go to the grocery store and have our pick of a plethora of apples. Amazing how many types there are. There are the Gala, Red Delicious, Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, Golden Delicious, McIntosh Red and more, over 24 different varieties, tastes and colors of apples.
It’s good to remember that fruit is harvested from mature trees.
You and I want to see fruitfulness in our lives as we follow Christ, but it takes time. Mature trees produce fruit, so patience and a few seasons are necessary for fruit to be visible and enjoyed.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal. 6:9
Here we are encouraged to stay patient and to not let the weariness of unseen fruit create discouragement in our lives. The laws of nature and of spiritual benefit are similar and are at work. Give it some time, and fruit will come if we don’t quit or give up. The first tree of fruitfulness in your life is the hardest.
Once you break through your old patterns and temptations, to establish a healthy fruit producing area in your life, it’s a tipping point. The reason for a fruit bearing tree is not just to enjoy its fruit, but to plant an orchard. That’s why the enemy of our soul presses against us early on in our walk with Christ. Stay the course and realize fruitfulness in one area, and this will lead to another and more strength will be seen, giving honor to God and joy to others.
